OurSecretMatureAffair.com advertises as the perfect place
for meeting other adults in the area.
On the landing page, there was a number displaying the number of members who were currently online at the time. It’s not the same for each user. Some might get 888 members, or 955, and so on. However, the number is usually close to 1,000 members each time. For us, the number never changed during our evaluation. It doesn’t take a genius to know nothing good can come from this experience. If users read the TOS, they’ll realize dates aren’t possible on this website.
Of course, the problem is that most users will not look for the message at the notice at the bottom of the landing page and will miss it. It is also in the TOS, but no one bothers to read that, so the chances of them knowing that they are communicating with contracted moderators are unlikely. However, since the operator mentions the use of fake chat operators, they can cheaply absolve themselves of any responsibility in the event of a dispute. Unfortunately, this trick is barely legal, but is often used as a very lucrative business strategy.
We found the following note in the terms and conditions
6.4 This Website or Service is for adult entertainment purposes; it is not our aim to bring physical appointments/contact between members. User is aware and agrees that we may use moderated and fictive profiles for online adult entertainment purposes. Festivus Media BV expressly reserves the right to send messages to this site by self-created profiles. Physical contact with these fictive profiles is not possible.
Fake profiles
OurSecretMatureAffair.com clearly acknowledges the existence of fictitious profiles that are used by operators to chat with real users. Fake chat operators are hired to deceive users by making them think they are chatting with genuine users so that users will spend more money on the platform. As we see it, these fake profiles were merely created to trick users into believing that they can truly find a real-life date, while fake chatting. This whole experience was clearly designed to be nothing more than a cheap rip-off.
Festivus Media BV, the company that runs this site from
the city of Hague, in Southern Poland, Netherlands, has a terrible online reputation. We found many negative reviews from former users complaining about the site being a scam. Although it was stated on the landing page that the profiles were fake, it must be noted that the text providing that information was placed at the very bottom of the page on purpose so that users would not see it. Based on reviewers from former users, it seems that many people have skipped that text.
