Hogar » Beware of ScotlandSocial.co.uk – January 2024 Scam Review

The landing page of ScotlandSocial.co.uk gives a good impression initially, but there are no signs of it being a scam at first glance. However, our extensive experience with the operator, Venntro Media Group Ltd, based in Slough, United Kingdom, reveals that they operate a large dating network with over 3,500 dating sites. This means that users’ personal information is shared across thousands of other websites when they register on one site, which is likely not what they intended.

Upon researching users’ feedback and experiences, we found numerous reports of a subscription trap where users are presented with fake profiles and chatbots, leading them to pay for a premium subscription that is difficult, if not impossible, to cancel.

The following note is from the terms and conditions

“Your information will be shared with members of sites in the same casual dating network as the site you have joined. […] The Site is an entertainment service. Your use of the Site and Service is entirely at your own risk. […] By using this Service you accept that any member profiles, messages and communication may not be genuine.”

Fake chat scam

The website’s Terms of Service state that it is for “entertainment” purposes, which is often used as a euphemism for a non-genuine experience in the context of fraudulent dating sites. This implies that the profiles and messages are fake, and meeting other members is not possible. Therefore, “entertainment” is essentially a way of acknowledging the fake chat without explicitly stating it.

Subscription rip-off

While the platform operates on a premium subscription that automatically renews, the difficulty in canceling it traps users in a long and costly payment plan against their will. In summary, ScotlandSocial.co.uk does not offer a genuine experience and appears to be seeking to rip off its users.
