At first glance, AmateursBay.com appeared to be a trustworthy and enjoyable online dating website. We noticed several real member profiles upon registration. Optional tags on the left side of the page displayed the site’s services. However, the notification bar began filling up with messages from fake profiles once an account was activated via email.
Unfortunately, responding to these messages required purchasing expensive credits, with users being charged $3 for just three messages, which is an unacceptable scam. Although it seems commonplace for dating websites to charge service fees, it is not acceptable to use fake profiles to scam users.
Extract from the Terms and Conditions
The goal of amateursbay.com is to allow users to flirt and connect with fictitious profiles. The website, service and content are for entertainment purposes only and not intended to be used to establish real-life meetings with other users. Profiles marked with a heart icon […] are fictitious profiles with which physical contact is not possible.
Warning: Beware of Fake Chats
The operators of AmateursBay.com, Midsummer Online BV, are located in Middleburg, Netherlands, and have been accused of creating fake dating websites that scam users. “Fake chat” operators try to lure members with fake profiles and attempt to chat until the users run out of credits and then lure users to purchase more. There are no real profiles on the website, making it a complete scam.
Based on our research and internet reviews, AmateursBay.com is a complete scam. Even though their terms and conditions openly admit to using fake profiles for entertainment purposes, they try to hide it by displaying the terms and conditions as a photo instead of a text document.
